The old Hazel View Summit on Highway 199
and the (now bypassed) hairpin turns
on the northern Redwood Highway
as it leaves California.

State Highway 199 is the
northernmost section of the Redwood Highway in Del Norte County.
It runs from US101 near Crescent City to the Oregon border and
continues on to Grants Pass.
This page of the @30 mile long stretch of the Redwood Highway displays cards of State Route 199 from Northeast of Patrick's Creek. The road now passes through a tunnel and no longer goes over the summit of the mountains. I would be very happy to hear more from anyone with further information or postcard images! |
