While Orleans is not on (or directly reachable from) the Redwood highway, it ranks with Klamath and Requa as meccas for fishermen. It is on State Route 96 and from Orleans that highway continues on past Some's Bar and Happy Camp, through Hamburg and ends at Interstate 5, a few miles north of Yreka. The road follows the Klamath all the way, and is among the most scenic drives in Northern California.
